So, I Did a Thing… I produced a music video.

June 16, 2026 

Not just any music video, but one featuring Canada Drag Race superstars Sanjina Da Bish Queen and Makayla Couture, alongside dancehall legend Lexxicon and icon Lady Pista.

This project is officially Spicy Approved.

As a brand, I wanted to see what a project like this could do. What would the return on investment look like? Would people engage with it? Would it reach beyond our immediate circle?

The results exceeded my expectations. Across seven reels, the campaign generated more than 125,000 views, 3,000 likes, 300 comments, 350 shares, and over 70 new followers. For the first campaign under the Spicy Alii banner, I couldn’t be happier with the response.

This project also showed me the power of community. From the shoot day, where performers showed up to support their fellow artists, to the music video premiere and Melanin SZN event at Crews & Tangos, there was a real sense of collaboration throughout the entire process. Seeing the crowd cheer, dance, and celebrate together made the experience all the more rewarding.

I took on this project because I love music. Getting the chance to work with such incredible talent was an honour, and producing a music video had been something I wanted to try for a long time. Seeing the final piece come together and watching the community embrace it made all the hard work worth it.
